After frosty morning which marked the beginning of December, London's weather is set to warm up for the remainder of the week.

Mercury levels will tip up to 13 degrees celsius, warmer than Athens, from Wednesday to Sunday after being blasted by cold winter weather.

According to the Met Office, the mid-week will start mild but dull and grey, although the developing breeze will start to clear the low cloud and mist, allowing some brightness.

On the outlook for Thursday (December 8) to Sunday, a spokesman for the Met Office said: "It will be less windy on Thursday but heavy rain at times.

"Winds will be strengthening again Friday but dry with bright spells.

"Overnight rain slow to clear on Saturday with winds easing, remaining mild throughout."

The sunnier outlook is welcomed after Storm Angus saw flash flooding in Hammersmith .

The Met Office also said there is a chance of snow in the UK on Christmas Day in its latest predictions over the weekend.

Their latest post on a white Christmas said: “Interludes of more unsettled weather are expected to be fairly limited, although these could still lead to some snow over high ground in the north."
