The journey home for commuters at London Waterloo was far from a pleasant one on Tuesday (August 8).

The capital's busiest railway station looked more chaotic than ever as South West Trains passengers waited - and waited - for their trains to arrive.

Ten platforms at the train station remain closed to allow for a summer expansion project which is expected to finish on August 28.

Adding to the expected delays, an information system problem left passengers confused as to when their train arrived on Tuesday morning.

On the same day a multiple signal failure outside London Waterloo also meant that five more platforms were out of action and a trespasser on the tracks added further delays.

There were also delays in Addlestone as a stolen BMW smashed through the level crossing barrier following a police pursuit. Delays are expected until 9pm.
