A low number of tourists set upon the quiet streets of Westminster this morning (March 23) and vowed the attack wouldn't change their view of London.

On Wednesday (March 22) a man, who police believe was Khalid Masood, mowed down members of the public in a car before stabbing PC Keith Palmer to death.

Three more people died, including Masood who was shot by police, and seven are in a critical condition with a further 29 treated in hospital.

American Gavin Phillips arrived from Charlotte, North Carolina, just a day after the attack for a business conference but made time for tourism this morning.

Streets in Westminster remain cordoned off after the attack

He said the attacks hadn't deterred him from visiting the capital's tourism spots.

Mr Phillips added: "I arrived first thing this morning, actually I got messages from family who said be careful and what not.

"I'm not too worried I'm only here for a couple of days for a work conference.

"When in London, I'm still coming out to see all the good spots.

"From a tourists perspective, obviously not your every day visit, just because there's a lot more police officers around, which I think is good.

"It shows that the city is secure and they're taking everything that happened yesterday seriously."

His fellow countryman, Kurt Cochran, was named as one of the victims who died after falling from Westminster Bridge.

Today several roads around the scene were cordoned off, at times so quiet only the sound of helicopters flying above could be heard.

Some tourists still feel London will remain a safe city to visit, and praised the efforts of the emergency services.

Matteo Testoni, a tourist visiting from Italy, said: "Police acted well to stop the man, and I think it will still be a safe place to visit."

Describing the capital compared to other cities he had visited, Rahmat Pulungan, from Indonesia, said: "Compared to other countries London here is quite safe, (I'm) just curious of what's going on here."

Media presence remains behind the cordon in Westminster

Nuria Sanchez, visiting from Spain, said: "Toda it's very difficult for us to go here, we stay here in London for three days, and I want to visit all buildings, it's impossible to visit the city today, and it's a problem."
