A London only visa allowing migrants to live and work in the capital has been proposed to preserve the economy following the Brexit decision .

Business leaders put forward their aims for London on Friday (November 11), which includes allowing skilled migrant workers to apply for a unique visa so as not to hinder the workforce.

Workers would have a national insurance number that would only permit them to work in London and should they lose their job, will be given 60 days to find another.

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry put together the report with other businesses on the proposal.

The decision will now go to the government, and policy director of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sean McKee, said he hopes the Conservatives will make the right decision for the country's economy.

"Our city would collapse without migrants," said Mr McKee.

"We need an immigration policy that is slightly different for London.

"The biggest issue by far for businesses is skills and staff.
