The eight innocent victims killed in the senseless London Bridge terror attack have been named.

The horrific atrocity happened in the capital as revellers enjoyed a typical Saturday night out on June 3.

Now, five days on from the terrorist attack which left 48 people injured, some still remain in hospital fighting for their lives.

Many who died were tourists on a holiday in London, with the youngest victim believed to be aged 21.

On the night, three men drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge, before stabbing people in bars and restaurants in Borough Market.

The first victims reported to have been killed were 30-year-old Canadian national Christine Archibald , 28-year-old nurse Kirsty Boden , and 21-year-old Australian nanny Sara Zelenak .

Others include 36-year-old French national Sebastien Belanger and 27-year-old Alexandre Pigeard, from France who was living and working in London.

The family of three other victims have come forward and named their loved ones who were also killed including 32-year-old James McMullan and 39-year-old Spanish banker Ignacio Echeverria.

The death toll rose to eight after the body of a man was recovered from the River Thames.

It followed an appeal to find Xavier Thomas, a French national, who had not been seen since the attack.

The Metropolitan Police said it believed it knew the identity of all those people who died.

On Wednesday (June 7) the force released a statement which said: "Casualty Bureau will close from 4.30pm today as police believe they know the identity of all those people who died and there are no outstanding or missing people following the terrorist attack on London Bridge."

Following the attacks, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said: "There aren't words to describe the grief and anger our city will be feeling today.

"I'm appalled and furious that these cowardly terrorists would deliberately target innocent Londoners and bystanders enjoying their Saturday night.

"There can be no justification for the acts of these terrorists and I'm quite clear we will never let them win nor will we allow them to cower our city or Londoners."
