A pedestrian is fighting for their life following a collision with a cyclist.

The incident happened shortly before 9.25am on Friday (May 12) at Beaufort Street in Chelsea.

Patrolling police officers attended, as did paramedics from London Ambulance Service.

The pedestrian suffered a serious head injury and has been taken to a central London hospital.

Scotland Yard described her condition as "life threatening".

Police are still at the scene this afternoon, with surrounding roads still closed while emergency services attend.

Earlier this week police reported an elderly man died after he was involved in a collision with a cyclist on nearby Chelsea Embankment.

The incident happened in November, with the 80-year-old pedestrian dying from his injuries five months later in April.

There was also a collision between two vehicles on Beaufort Street in December, which let two people with minor injuries.

At 09:25hrs on Friday, 12 May patrolling officers found a collision between a pedal cycle and a pedestrian.
