Overcrowding at the Lumiere London lights display on Saturday (January 16) led to a number of installations being switched off.

Visitors were advised to come on Sunday evening instead as huge demand for the illuminated arts display led to safety concerns.

Sunday (January 17) is the fourth and final night of the free show, which will again take place at locations across the capital from 6.30pm-10.30pm.

On Saturday evening, a number of installations were temporarily switched off and King's Cross station was evacuated as the crowds exceeded expectations.

Most displays resumed later that evening, but Light Graffiti, an interactive exhibit in King's Cross allowing participants to paint using torches, and Aquarium, a Mayfair phone box filled with fish, remained shut.

The organiser @artichoketrust tweeted on Saturday evening: "We are currently extremely busy, if you can, come on Sunday instead."

Spectators hoping to check out the final night are advised to check for updates on Twitter, using the hashtag #LumiereLDN.
