A mother in Ealing was pinned to a bed in front of her young child in a terrifying robbery ordeal by a gang of "professional burglars" who carried out a seven-month stealing spree.

The brave victim has spoken out in a video interview, as four men are now behind bars for stealing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cash, jewellery and electrical equipment after breaking into homes in Barnet, Brent , Camden, Ealing and Haringey.

The mum-of-two was putting her young children to bed when she was grabbed by one of the men and pinned down, while the burglars stole tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from her home in Amherst Avenue, Ealing, on March 8, 2016.

Video footage from internal security cameras in her house showed five men entering the property through a patio door and then walking through the kitchen.

The terrified mum can be seen screaming as she discovered the intruders in her home.

This was just one of 16 break-ins committed across London during the seven month period, which saw the men responsible jailed for a combined total of 23 years.

The robbery victim has been commended for speaking out

The burglars were caught and prosecuted as the result of a long-running investigation by the Met’s London Crime Squad.

Beau Abououf, 27, of Varndell Street, Camden, was sentenced to a total of eight years’ imprisonment.

Stephen Kelly, 22, of Lymington Road, Camden and Danny Logan, 21, of Raglan Street, Camden were both sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.

Detective Inspector James Hale, of the Met’s Trident and Area Command, said: “These men were all professional burglars who committed crime in a highly organised manner to support a lavish lifestyle.

"They have shown a complete disregard for the victims of their crimes, many of whom have suffered severe financial and psychological damage.

“In most of the burglaries, the men targeted properties where they believed the homeowner was away, but, in one terrifying robbery, Abououf, Kelly and Logan stole jewellery from a house in Ealing after pinning a mother to the bed in front of her young child, who is still suffering psychological trauma more than a year later.

"I would like to pay tribute to this woman for her bravery in giving evidence in court during the trial."

Beau Abououf is behind bars for eight years for the stealing spree

Abououf, Kelly and Logan were all sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, June 8.

Previously, at the same court, Daniel Hill, 22, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on Thursday, May 25.

Two of the men – Kelly and Logan – were arrested on March 15 2016, after officers responded to an alarm activation at a property in Primrose Hill.

Kelly was found in a neighbours’ garden with Logan detained a short distance away.

Stephen Kelly was sentenced to six years' imprisonment

The burglars had caused an estimated £15,000 worth of damage to the property after they broke in and stole a steel safe, which was found abandoned in the garden.

Whilst in custody, Kelly and Logan were linked to another burglary in Connaught Mews, Hampstead, on February 24, 2016.

Logan and Kelly were bailed for these offences and, as a result of analysis of their mobile phones, the police investigation was widened to include Hill and Abououf.

The four men were linked to a further 14 burglaries at homes in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing and Haringey between November 19 2015 and June 25 2016.

Danny Logan was one of two perpetrators handed a six-year sentence

The group bragged to each other about their crimes through their mobile phones, sending each other images and videos featuring them flaunting the stolen goods, according to detailed analysis of mobile phone records.

In many of the break-ins, the group stole expensive designer watches and clothes as well as jewellery.

Abououf, Kelly and Logan were also subsequently charged with the robbery that took place at the mum-of-two's home in Ealing on March 8 2016.

Another key piece of evidence in building the case against Abououf and Kelly was footage from internal cameras in a property in Camden that was broken into on June 23 and 25, 2016, while the owner was away.

The CCTV system clearly identified the three men as they entered the premises and stole a large number of items, including designer clothing and electrical items to a value of £89,800.

After searches were carried out at Logan, Kelly and Abououf’s addresses, a number of items of stolen property were identified, linked to the burglaries.

Kelly and Logan were charged with conspiracy to burgle on June 29, 2016.

Hill was charged on July 20 and Abououf on July 27.

Abououf was charged with conspiracy to burgle and one count of robbery.

He offered no plea to the charges but was found guilty after a six-day trial at Harrow Crown Court in April.

Kelly and Logan were also charged with conspiracy to burgle and one count of robbery.

They both pleaded guilty to the conspiracy to burgle and not guilty to the charge of robbery, but were found guilty of the robbery charge after a five-day trial at Harrow Crown Court.

Hill, who was arrested on June 9 2016 pleaded guilty to two burglary charges as well as the conspiracy to burgle.

Daniel Hill was sentenced to three years' imprisonment

DI Hale added: "Thankfully, robberies of this kind in London are rare and this conviction sends a message that the Met Police will do all it can to pursue, apprehend and bring to justice callous criminals of this nature.

“We believe there may still be other individuals linked to this group who may have been involved in the conspiracy.

"I would urge anyone with any information about these men to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
