Residents, patients, staff and other interested groups are invited to attend a public exhibition to review proposals for a new building on the St Mary’s Hospital site.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is proposing to create of a brand new building at the Paddington hospital to house the majority of St Mary’s adult and children’s outpatients’ services and supporting diagnostics, which are currently provided from 40 different locations across the site.

The new building would be used by patients who require treatment such as scans and diagnosis appointments at the hospital without needing to stay there overnight.

The development would see Salton House, the Dumbell building, and the Albert & Victoria buildings between Praed Street and South Wharf Road make way for a modern, flexible and welcoming new facility.

Dr Tracey Batten, chief executive of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “St Mary’s has an ageing estate with outpatients services scattered across the hospital site.

"The proposed development will allow us to bring together all our outpatients services into one purpose-built, modern facility.

“We have an opportunity to achieve a real step change for patients in terms of improving their experience of our outpatient services and the overall quality of care they receive.

“The trust is committed to involving staff, patients, carers, GPs, local residents and other stakeholders with an interest in the hospital’s future at every stage of the development to ensure all our services and facilities help us provide the very best care and to deliver the development with minimum disruption.”
