Lambeth Bridge is closed eastbound as crews clear up an oil spill from a broken down lorry.

Emergency services have been at the scene since around 11.15am on Thursday (November 9) and remain in place.

Diversions are in place in the area and police are operating a contraflow.

Officers are operating a contraflow through the west side of the roundabout.

Bridge closed eastbound

Vauxhall Bridge Road is slow southbound with tailbacks to Victoria. Southbound traffic on Millbank is slow from Parliament Square.

Lambeth Bridge is closed eastbound.

Traffic update

According to TfL, northbound traffic on Albert Embankment is being diverted over Lambeth Bridge resulting in tailbacks from Westminster Bridge, through Parliament Square to Vauxhall Bridge.
