Labour has held on to the marginal seat of Brentford and Isleworth.

Ruth Cadbury has retained the seat she won from Mary Macleod in 2015 with a hugely increased majority.

Sources had said earlier in the evening that count was too close to call, with reports that is was "neck and neck".

But Ms Cadbury won with 35,364 votes to Ms Macleod's 23,182.

The constituency had been one of the Conservative's target seats.

Ms Cadbury won the seat by 0.55%, beating Ms Macleod who had previously won it in 2010.

The two politicians are going head to head again in 2017, with Ms Macleod hoping to overturn the tiny Labour majority of 465 votes .

The election count took place at Hounslow Civic Centre, where getwestlondon reporter Lois Swinnerton is reporting.

She has sent images from the count showing a police presence at the civic centre, in Lampton Road.

A police presence is also reported at other General Election counts, with Harrow Council tweeting borough commander Simon Ovens at its count.
