Kilburn train incident: Man dies in hospital after being struck by train

A man rushed to hospital after being struck by a train in Kilburn on Wednesday (October 4) has died, British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed.

BTP officers were called to Kilburn High Road station at around 1.45pm to reports of a person being struck by a train.

The man was resuscitated at the scene by London Ambulance Service and rushed to hospital where he was said to be in a life-threatening condition.

He was sadly confirmed to have died on Thursday morning (October 5).

The man has not been named as his next-of-kin are yet to be informed.

Officers are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Bus routes were diverted on Wednesday at around 2pm and Abbey Road was closed as BTP attended the incident.

TfL tweeted: "Routes 139 189 are diverted in both directions following Abbey Road, NW8 closure South of Belsize Road due to a person fallen from bridge."

TfL reported buses had returned to their normal service at 3.16pm on Wednesday.
