A man who was found with stab wounds in the street in Queen's Park is said to no longer be in a life-threatening condition and is now "stable" in hospital, according to police.

Officers were called to Portnall Road, Westminster, at around 12.20pm on Wednesday (October 11) accompanied by London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance.

The 24-year-old man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Witnesses described the scene as "carnage" and said there was "blood everywhere".

The man was discovered close to Jubilee Sports Centre, which was closed as investigations were carried out.

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police said the crime scene has now been lifted: "The crime scene was closed at 5.23pm yesterday (October 11), so the roads have reopened and the crime scene has been lifted."

According to police there have been no arrests in connection with the incident.
