A 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death near the gates of his school in Kensal Green on Monday, January 23, has been formally identified as Quamari Serunkuma-Barnes.
Police were called to Doyle Gardens just before 3.30pm on January 23 following reports that a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers found the teenager had sustained stab wounds.
He was taken to a central London hospital where he died.
A post-mortem examination established the cause of death as a haemorrhage and stab wound to the chest.
Paying tribute, Quamari’s sister, Piera Serunkuma-Hutton said: “Quamari was a much loved boy with a heart full of gold.
"Everyone who knew my brother loved him to bits.
"He was such a good role model to everyone, old and young.
"He loved reggae music and could sing any song that came on the radio.
“He could make anyone laugh no matter the situation.
"He used to always send me pictures of outfits he should buy when he was going out with his friends.
"And, to all his friends that waited for hours and hours for him to get ready my mum loves you all.”
A 15-year-old who was arrested in Norbury on Tuesday, January 24, on suspicion of Quamari's murder, remains in custody at a north London police station.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said: "I would like to thank all those witnesses who have come forward and spoken to police.
"They have been of huge assistance to our investigation.
"However, if there is anyone out there who knows or saw something then please do get in touch with us, if you haven't yet spoken to police.
"Whilst establishing the motive is a key part of our investigation, at this stage we do not believe that the murder was linked to gang activity or membership.
"A 15-year-old boy remains in our custody and the murder investigation is continuing to move at a fast pace."
