A weight-loss champion from Feltham was thrilled to receive an award for Slimming World Consultant Slimmer of the Year from soap star and singer Jason Donovan.
Georgina Wallace who runs Slimming World classes in Hanworth was presented with her trophy by the Australian heartthrob who co-hosted the annual awards event with the organisation’s chair and founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell.
The encouragement she received from Slimming World paved the way for her to start her own weight-loss group two years ago.
Mr Donovan said: “At the awards I met lots of people who’ve lost incredible amounts of weight and it has completely changed their lives – in fact, it’s saved their lives in some cases.
“And every single one of them told me that they couldn’t have made the changes they have to eat more healthily and become more active without the help and support of their Slimming World group and their consultant, so people like Georgina are clearly very important – not only for the changes she has made in her own life, but for those people she helps each week in her groups.”
She has also announced the launch of an additional class in the New Year from Thursday January 7 2016 at 7.30pm, to help more people in the community lose weight and fulfil their New Year’s resolutions.
The class will run alongside her existing sessions on Tuesdays at 3.30pm; 5.30pm and 7.30pm, held at Scout Hut, Nallhead Road, Hanworth.
Mrs Wallace who is looking forward to welcoming new members in the New Year, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the members of the Hanworth group.
“They’ve lost 503 stone during 2015, with many of them making their weight loss dreams come true by hitting their target weight, improving their health and fitness.
“What I love is that while our members lose weight, they also grow in confidence and happiness – we joke the only thing that gets bigger at our group is our smiles!
“We’ve had a lot of fun together in 2015 and I can’t wait to see what 2016 holds for the Hanworth Slimming World groups.
“Lots of people will be making resolutions to lose weight and improve their health this New Year.
“Thanks to our famous Food Optimising eating plan they’ll see big results on the scales without ever having to feel hungry or deprived, and at the Hanworth groups they’ll discover a whole world of support and advice that’s sure to help them reach their targets”.
Mrs Wallace also appears in Slimming World’s national video advert, called Living Happy, My Story.
Two other Slimming World consultants Lisa Maskell who runs a group at Inverness Lodge Social Club, Brentford every Monday and Wednesday at North Hanwell Baptist Church Hall and Toni Brennan who runs a group at Hounslow Conservative Club, Hounslow every Tuesday, also attended the awards evening held at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.
