Lewis Hickey described the “commotion” he saw when he stepped out of Shepherd’s Bush overground station. He said: “At first I thought someone had been injured, but then it looked like the pick up truck had crashed. The whole of Uxbridge Road was at a standstill.

“It was packed, the whole thing was rammed, the traffic wasn’t moving at all. There was a huge commotion. Police had blocked both sides of Uxbridge Road.”

Police say no-one was hurt. The road was fully reopened at 12.30pm.
