The family of a severely disabled girl are throwing a party to raise money for life-changing equipment.

Sophie Pritchett, who grew up in Isleworth but now lives near the south coast in West Moors, has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. The 12-year-old cannot walk and has very limited use of her arms.

Her family want to buy a specially adapted chair, costing around £3,000, which they say will make a huge difference to her quality of life.

They have organised a family fun day at the 3rd Osterley Sea Scouts' base in Isleworth on Saturday September 12 to help raise the funds.

Live music, a bouncy castle, children's games and face-painting will be among the attractions at the venue in Richmond Road, from midday to 5pm.

There will also be a raffle, with top prizes including the opportunity to raise Tower Bridge from the control cabin, a boxing glove signed by David Haye and a £50 Chiquito voucher.

Sophie's aunt Kaye Walsh said: "We need to raise this money as the chair will make a big difference to Sophie's quality of life."

Entry will cost £1 for adults, with children going free.
