Metropolitan Police officers have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted in Acton High Street on Tuesday (June 28).

Sources from the force told getwestlondon the man, in his 60s, has been described as being in a critical condition after being taken to the hospital following the incident.

No arrests have been made and police are seeking witnesses, with anyone who has information to contact Ealing Borough CID, 101 or Crimestoppers.

Officers believe the offence may have been committed by either one person or a group.

Calls for witnesses comes just days after CCTV was released by detectives in Acton in a fresh appeal to track down a sex attacker still on the loose in the area.

Officers warned women in the area and have asked them to remain vigilant, with Detective Inspector Ash Hornsby adding: "I would also urge anyone who was in any of these locations on the days and times of these offences and who may have seen any assault or anything suspicious to get in touch."
