Around 300 pupils from 40 schools, colleges and universities were given a chance to speak to airline experts about job opportunities including its Future Flying programme, apprenticeships and graduate schemes, at its Waterside headquarters near Heathrow Airport.
The BA Aviation Careers Day, backed by charity Air League, saw pilots, cabin crew, and people from operational roles talk to students, all aged 15 and above, about the possibilities open to them on Thursday (Nov 12).
Students from Hillingdon, Hounslow, Ealing, Hammersmith, Richmond, Harrow and Brent were among the cohorts who attended.
Veeraj Vadgama (17) from Hampton Academy in Richmond, said: “I found this to be a useful experience in terms of learning about the wider roles that aviation has to offer.
“I am definitely considering taking up a role in aviation.”
Other organisations joined the careers day including aircraft manufacturer experts from Boeing and Airbus as well as flight training schools to give an insight into the aviation industry.
British Airways pilot First Officer Lucie Martin, said: “It was great chatting to the youngsters and finding out what they’re interested in.
“I remember being inspired by a female pilot on a British Airways flight to Australia when I was 11.

"It made me think that it was a realistic option, and sometimes that’s all it takes.
“As a former RAF and current airline pilot it’s extremely rewarding to do whatever I can to help younger people realise their dream of becoming a pilot.
“Initiatives like the British Airways Future Pilot Programme mean that becoming an airline pilot is possible for anyone – male or female – if they have the drive, customer service skills and talent.”
