Fire crews tackled a blaze in west Ealing this morning (Tuesday, January 24).

Crews from Acton , Southall and Hayes fire stations were called to a house on Rathgar Avenue at 9.38am.

A total of 21 firefighters and four fire engines were required to tackle the fire which was brought under control by 11.35am.

Three workmen evacuated the house before fire crews arrived on scene and four people from the adjoining property also escaped unharmed.

The fire broke out on Rathgar Avenue

London Fire Brigade Borough Commander for Hounslow , Greg Ashman said:

"Firefighters worked hard and stopped the fire from spreading to adjacent homes.

"The whole of the roof property was destroyed and part of the ground and first floor as well.

"Thankfully there were no injuries."

Investigations are being carried out into the cause of the fire.
