A man in his mid-30s has died after suffering a stab wound and "other injuries" in Hounslow.

Metropolitan Police was called at just after 2am on Friday (December 22) to Grove Road to a report of a man injured following an assault.

A spokesman for the Met said: "Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

"The 36-year-old man was found suffering from a stab wound and other injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2.54am."

The spokesman said the victim's next of kin had been made aware.

"Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination is due to be held on Saturday (December 23) at Fulham Mortuary," she added.

The Met said three men, aged 29, 35 and 28, and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of murder and taken to separate police stations.

They remain in custody.

The road was cordoned off near The Albion pub

Mo Zaman was walking from his mum’s house to his dad’s in Hibernia Road on Friday morning when he noticed the heavy police presence.

He said: "I was stuck for 40 to 50 minutes because the roads were sealed off.

"There was a huge police presence here this morning.

"There were two riot vans earlier and a larger area was sealed off too.

"It’s a rough area and I’m not too surprised by this. It can be a worry and I think neighbours are concerned."

A resident of nearby Mauveine Gardens, who asked not to be named, said: "It’s the shock of something like this happening so close to home.

"You don’t expect it to happen here."

Hibernia Road, by the junction of Grove Road, was cordoned off by police following the incident.

DCI Lynes, from the Met, said: "I am keen to hear from anyone who has information concerning this incident or anyone who witnessed the events that led up to the murder.

"I appeal to them to come forward and speak with police about what they may have seen.

"At this early stage we retain an open mind as to motive and several lines of enquiry are ongoing.

"I would urge anyone with information, even if it seems insignificant, to come forward as this may prove vital in piecing the events of this incident together."

The Met said its Homicide and Major Crime Command was investigating.
