Police in Hounslow rushed to help tourists moments after a hire car burst in flames on a busy stretch of road in Hounslow.

Officers were at a Goan festival at Cranford Community School on the High Street when a call came out to a vehicle on fire at the nearby A312 The Parkway, on Sunday (July 31).

When police arrived at the scene a Jeep was already up in flames and the fire had spread to the footbridge.

Six officers were at the scene and helped make sure the family who had just arrived from the US were okay.

The family had landed in the UK and collected the car 20 minutes before it caught fire.
