A man who was trapped after a partial building collapse in Hounslow has been rescued by fire crews.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on Monday (August 21) afternoon.

A witness described seeing "many ambulances and fire engines" on the High Street near Asda at around 1pm.

The fire service said it was called at 12.37pm to a shop and flats where an internal wall had collapsed.

A LFB spokesman said: "We were called to a shop and flats over four floors and a basement.

"There was a collapse of an internal wall. One man was trapped.

"He was treated by the London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital."

The incident was over within an hour, the LFB added.

The London Ambulance Service has been contacted for a comment.
