Troubled nightclub Club K in Hounslow has been ordered to meet strict conditions if it wishes to remain open.

Owners of the venue in the High Street, Hounslow, have reached a last minute agreement with Hounslow council in order to keep its licence.

Following a number of serious of antisocial incidents including a mass brawl outside the premises on March 31 last year , the club was subject to a summary review made by police in April 2016.

The club appealed against the review and conditions, with the case going before Uxbridge Magistrates' Court earlier this month.

At the hearing, a consent order was drafted where the club agreed to the reduced hours and a number of conditions.

The club was also ordered to pay the council’s full costs of £9,500.

The strict rules imposed by Hounslow council's licensing panel as part of the review included an earlier 3am closure instead of 4am and no sale of alcohol after 2.30am.

In addition, a minimum of four security staff were to be placed outside the premises for 30 minutes after closing as party-goers left.

However, it was agreed a condition to restrict entry after 1.30am would be lifted.

A requirement was also made that club owners must seek permission to promote external events, must have extra door staff and all employees including managers must undergo regular training on licensing law and conflict management.

Club K will continue to be monitored by the council’s licensing team and the police.

Councillor Sue Sampson, cabinet member for community protection at Hounslow Council, said: “Our main priority is those residents and visitors who go to Club K.

“The conditions were put in place for a reason, to ensure that antisocial behaviour does not take place and that the club’s owners and staff run the venue to comply with its licence.

“If we feel and the police believe that this is not happening, then we will take strong action and impose measures to ensure residents and visitors are not put at risk.”
