A child involved in a collision with a double-decker bus in Hounslow on Tuesday (September 12) morning has not suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries, police say.

The boy, thought to be 12-year-old, was involved in a collision with the number 237 bus travelling towards White City shortly before 8am.

He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in central London where he remains.

The incident happened near the junction with Inwood Road , and closed Hanworth Road in both directions up to School Road.

The police spokesman said Hanworth Road was expected to “reopen shortly”.

Buses were forced to run a diversion while the road was closed.

Transport for London confirmed buses were back on the route at around 11.15am.
