A gym in Hounslow will donate money for each new member that joins throughout the month of October in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

Xercise4Less on Staines Road, along with 43 of its gyms, will give £1 to the charity for every new sign up, and is also urging people to wear pink to classes in its show of support for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

A host of activities will be taking place to raise awareness and funds for the cause including Big Pink open weekends.

This weekend on October 15 and 16 will see the Big Pink Lift Challenge where members try and lift a weight, with the winner receiving a HD TV, followed by the Big Pink Walk, where members will be encouraged to wear pink and walk or run 5k in the gym on a treadmill between 10am and midday.

The finale weekend on October 29 and 30 will offer protein sampling and pink protein shaker giveaways.

Kiefer Stewart, general manager at Xercise4Less Hounslow, said: “It’s always a pleasure getting involved in charity initiatives like this.

"This cause is one that is close to so many people as a result of loved ones having been affected by breast cancer in some way, shape or form.

"We want to see as many people in our gyms as possible to help raise lots of money and awareness for a hugely worthwhile cause.”

Samia al Qadhi, Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Care, added: “We are delighted that Xercise4Less has decided to partner with Breast Cancer Care this October.

"The funds Xercise4Less will raise will help us provide anyone affected by breast cancer with the best care, support and information when they need it most."

At least 60,000 people a year are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK.
