A rooftop fire at a semi-detached property in Hounslow is under control after having "destroyed" the entire roof.

London Fire Brigade sent 35 firefighters and six engines from Heston, Feltham, Twickenham, Chiswick and Kingston to Lyncroft Gardens after being called out at 12.57pm on Tuesday (August 8).

The crews closed off the residential road as they tackled the fire on the roof.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman told getwestlondon : "100% of the roof has been damaged. The roof is completely destroyed".

Part of the roof of a neighbouring property was also damaged.

The occupants of the property, two women and a man, were able to escape before the Fire Brigade arrived.

The cause of the fire is still not known.

The fire was under control by around 2.36pm but crews remained at the scene.
