A male pedestrian is in recovery after being hit by a car in Hounslow .

The man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered head and leg injuries and was taken as a priority to hospital.

He was struck by a vehicle in Lampton Road on Wednesday (September 27) morning.

On Thursday (September 28) the Metropolitan Police said "his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing."

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.20am.

Part of Lampton Road was closed for several hours while the incident was dealt with.

No arrests have been made and police enquiries continue into the accident.

It is the second collision involving pedestrians and vehicles in the area this month.

Two weeks earlier, two schoolchildren were injured following a collision with a lorry on A4 Great West Road, on Wednesday September 13.

Hounslow Police has since attended the school to talk about road safety .
