A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a van in Hounslow during the busy evening rush hour.

The 46-year-old pedestrian was rushed to a central London hospital where his condition is being treated as "life threatening", the Metropolitan Police told getwestlondon .

The serious collision happened at the junction of Cranford Lane and Brabazon Road in Heston on Thursday (January 26) just before 6.30pm.

Next of kin have been informed.

A Met Police spokesman said: "LAS called police to attend a collision between a 46-year-old male pedestrian and a van at the junction of Cranford Lane and Brabazon Road, Hounslow at 6.23pm.

"The victim has been taken to a central London hospital and is being treated as life threatening.

"The driver stopped at the scene and is helping police with enquries."

Cranford Lane was partially closed and bus diversions in place while emergency services attended the scene.

No arrests have been made.
