Hounslow residents are being invited to have their say on planned developments in which the council says will "shape the future of Great West Corridor and West of Borough areas for the next 15 years".

A consultation process is being hosted by Hounslow Council from Monday (October 23) until December 10 on the Local Plan Review.

The review outlines a vision for the regeneration of the western side of the borough and the Great West Corridor which includes Chiswick, Osterley and Brentford.

Residents will be able to share their opinions on the creation of new public spaces, where new homes will be built, what jobs will be created, and how existing green areas will be improved.

The plan includes policies for areas where regeneration and growth will be the focus, identification of potential development sites and policies regarding space in a bid to support opportunities for housing, job creation and the provision of new infrastructures to benefit the local community.

This is the second stage of the proposals after the Local Plan review was first created in 2015.

The plan breaks down into two sections with the West of Borough element forming part of the Heathrow Opportunity Area in the London Plan for business growth and housing development.

The second part of the plan is for the Great West Corridor area which has also been identified by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan as an Opportunity Area in the London Plan, proposing significant business growth and housing development with improved public transport access.

The plan also supports the delivery of a new Southern Rail access into Heathrow Airport and proposes new passengers services to Southall Crossrail and Old Oak Common railway station.

Councillor Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow Council and cabinet member for regeneration, said: "It’s extremely important we get the views of our residents on the Local Plan Review, as we want to ensure that regeneration and development enhances local people’s lives.

"We will read and analyse every comment our residents make and will use it to inform the next version of the Local Plan review due for consultation in summer 2018.

"We have a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop further as a borough and this is just one way of doing this.

"Please give us your views, as we look to shape a positive future for you, our residents, in the issues that matter including new homes, jobs and better transport facilities amongst others."
