A former Hillingdon student has raised £800 for premature babies in the borough by hosting a pub and school reunion last month.

Richard Warren put on the reunion for ex-pupils from Abbotsfield School and Swakeleys School as well as patrons of the Oak Tree pub and The Hillingdon Arms pub on September 23.

Open to anyone who was a student between 1970 to 1985 the event at Uxbridge Golf Club raised a welcome £815 for the Hillingdon Hospitals Charity.

Mr Warren, who lives in St Albans in Hertfordshire, said: “I wanted a local smaller charity.

“People were generous in their giving and it was all to a good cause

“Our granddaughter was premature and she just celebrated her 7th birthday. She was like a little bag of sugar in my hand.”
