A large haul of gold jewellery has been recovered after police arrested a suspected burglar in Hillingdon .

Detectives are now trying to restore the suspected loot, which also includes money from several countries, to its rightful owner or owners.

A number of ornate gold earrings, a bracelet with anchor and ice skate charms, and a Rolex watch are among the more distinctive items seized by police.

Officers also recovered money in various currencies, including sterling, US dollars, Euros, Swiss francs and long-defunct French francs.

Officers said the goods were found on a burglary suspect when he was stopped in the borough on June 2. He was subsequently arrested for handling stolen goods and is currently on bail.

DC Jay Tiwari, of Hillingdon's burglary squad, urged anyone who recognised any of the items to get in touch.

"Hillingdon burglary squad are committed in reuniting victims with their stolen property," he said.

Anyone who recognises the jewellery pictured is asked to call DC Tiwari on 020 8246 2112 or via the non-emergency police number 101.
