Repairs to a burst water main is causing severe congestion on Tuesday (January 10) morning.

Residents living in and around the Parsons Green area said they were without water or experiencing low water pressure after damage was detected on Monday (January 9).

Thames Water customers contacted the water board on Twitter for more information and were told emergency repairs were underway.

As a result, New Kings Road is closed westbound between Hurlingham Road junction and the A219 Putney Bridge Approach junction. Severe congestion has been reported in the area during the Tuesday morning rush hour.

Transport for London say the Nos 22 and 242 buses are also subject to diversions and delays.

Thames Water apologised for the inconvenience caused to its customers, but said the repairs were now complete and that water supply would soon return to normal.

Anyone without water can call 0800 3169800.
