A man is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds in Hayes.

The victim, a male believed to be in his 30s, was rushed to hospital after the incident in Yeading Lane on Wednesday night (October 25).

Police said there were reports of a number of suspects arriving at the scene in a vehicle, one carrying a gun.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called at around 8.48pm to a row of shops in Yeading Lane.

A spokesman for the force said: "Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service.

"The victim, a male believed to be in his 30s, was taken to a central London hospital. His condition is described as critical but stable."

The spokesman continued: "It was reported that there were a number of suspects who arrived at the scene in a vehicle, with one carrying a firearm.

"Later in the evening, armed officers stopped a vehicle in Westminster and arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder."

The arrested man was taken to a west London police station.

Police enquiries are ongoing.
