Hayes stabbing: Man in his 20s taken to hospital with arm injury

Metropolitan Police said it was called to reports of a man stabbed on Tuesday (August 29) afternoon

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with a stab wound to his arm following an incident in Hayes.

Officers from Hillingdon CID are investigating and so far no arrests have been made.

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police said the force was called at around 3.20pm on Tuesday (August 29) afternoon to Station Road in Hayes to reports of a man stabbed.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and located the victim - believed aged in his 20s - in nearby Pump Lane; he was suffering a stab wound to the arm," the spokesman said.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment - his condition is not life threatening.

"No arrests; enquiries continue."

The incident follows a daylight double stabbing in Hayes on Tuesday August 22, in which two men were injured and another was hurt by a vehicle.

Hillingdon police then issued a statement saying officers were working hard to tackle knife crime. On Thursday (August 25), police conducted a weapon sweep in Hayes town centre.

In July, a teenage girl was rushed to a major trauma centre after being stabbed in a street fight in the town.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or, to be anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
