A man who taken to hospital with head injuries after an incident in Hayes on Wednesday (February 22) was involved in a fall, according to Hillingdon Police.

The Metropolitan Police cordoned off parts of Hayes town after the man was injured in Blyth Road at around 8am.

His condition remains unclear but Hillingdon Police said they are “treating this incident as an injury in the street.”

A statement from officers in the borough on Thursday morning (February 23), said: “Yesterday police and LAS [London Ambulance Service] attended an incident in Hayes where a man had a head injury.

“After setting a crime scene and investigating the incident it appears the man sustained his injuries in a fall.

“We hope this clarifies the matter.”

Officers initially stated they were dealing with an assault.

No further details about the man have been released by the Met and no arrests have been made.

A spokesman for the force said on Wednesday: “Officers attended along with the LAS and found a man suffering from a head injury.

“The man has been taken to a west London hospital.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the injury was caused.”
