Police are treating the case as a murder investigation after they

The ambulance took the victim, Mr Dulai, to a central London hospital. He was later pronounced dead at around 8.30pm.

Although a formal identification is yet to take place, he has been named as Harjit Singh Dulai of Uxbridge and his next of kin have been informed.

Four men, aged 19, 20, 28, and 39, were arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remain in custody at various west London police stations pending further enquires.

One of the men was arrested at the scene and three others were arrested as a result of further police enquiries.

A post-mortem and formal identification will be scheduled in due course.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are underway and detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

Appealing for witnesses

DCI Noel McHugh is leading the investigation.

He said: "At this early stage we understand the victim had attended the venue to meet a person, or persons. We need to establish what happened next.

"Although arrests have been made I would appeal for any witnesses who saw this attack, or the events surrounding the attack, to come forward and speak to police.

"I would also urge anyone who has information that could assist this investigation to contact my officers."

Officers would also like to speak with a man who was cycling through the park with a dog.

This man assisted by providing directions to the LAS over the phone. He may have information that is vital to the investigation and is asked to contact detectives.

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8785 8099, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or on their website .
