Shadow Chancellor and west London MP John McDonnell has been invited to join Jeremy Corbyn and address thousands of festival goers at Glastonbury this year.

The Labour party duo were asked to speak at the sell-out five day fest, with the Hayes and Harlington MP to speak on the Left Field.

Singer and activist Billy Bragg is behind the arrangement of speakers on the festival's left field.

It will be the first time a Party leader speaks at Glastonbury, although several union members have featured at the music meets politics event.

Most people attending the festival will be in Glastonbury on June 23, the day of the European Union referendum.

Adele and Muse are among the headline acts at the festival, which takes place from June 22 to 26.
