A person has died after being struck by a train at Harrow and Wealdstone station on Wednesday afternoon (October 25).

Officers were called to the station, which is currently closed, at 4.45pm and attended with paramedics.

Members of the British Transport Police are now working to identify the person and inform the family.

A spokesman for BTP said commuters can expect "significant delays" on services departing Euston station this evening.

'Significant delays expected'

The spokesman said that, as a result of the incident, “significant delays are expected” on services departing Euston station.

Passengers have been advised to check with National Rail Enquiries before travelling.

A spokesman for BTP said:

“A person has sadly died after they were struck by a train at Harrow and Wealdstone station this afternoon.

“Officers were called to the station shortly before 4.45pm and attended alongside paramedics.

“Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
