Firefighters will remain on the scene of a serious fire which hit shops and flats in Westbourne Park this morning (Friday February 24) throughout the night.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to Harrow Road at 8.45am where the building was alight.

The damage caused has since been described as "excessive".

LFB has said it will be staying at the scene throughout the night as firefighters continue to deal with stituation.

The area currently cordoned off will remain closed throughout the night, LFB added.

Earlier a witness described how residents had come out of the building looking "scared" and how people nearby were covering their mouths with scarves.
