A police constable in Harrow has been given a final written warning following a misconduct hearing for breach of professional behaviour.

Proven allegations against Metropolitan Police officer Aleya Uddin included whilst off-duty she allowed her vehicle to be driven without checking to ensure the driver had valid insurance.

The officer then interfered when police investigated potential offences.

She faced allegations for being in breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in three areas including challenging and reporting improper behaviour; honesty and integrity; and discreditable conduct, however only the latter was proven.

The panel decided to issue her a final written warning following the hearing last Thursday (October 6).

In neighbouring west London boroughs a number of police officers have been dismissed in recent weeks including Harrow PC Bobby Cooper, dismissed after he was convicted for assault, criminal damage and malicious communications.

Ealing PC Matthew Holloway was sacked for sending malicious texts and social media messages deemed "completely unacceptable" by the Met.

And Westminster PC Anirudh Raichura was sacked over an alleged inappropriate relationship with a vulnerable crime victim.
