An investigation is underway after a man in his 20s suffered a head injury in a serious early hours assault in Harrow .

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called out to Gladstone Way at around 2.40am on Sunday morning (July 2).

Harrow Borough Police tweeted that a "serious assault" had taken place in the area.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury - an update on his condition awaits.

"Officers from Harrow are investigating; there have been no arrests and enquiries continue."

The spokesman added that a crime scene remains in place at the location.

Traffic and travel service INRIX warns that Gladstone Way is closed in both directions between Palmerston Road and Canning Road.
