Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at a factory and offices in Chantry Place, Harrow .

London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the scene just before midnight on Thursday (September 14), with crews expected to remain at the scene well into Friday morning.

Twelve people were evacuated from nearby properties as a precaution.

A firefighter said trains at nearby Headstone Lane station had been stopped.

Roads re-opened

Headstone Lane has re-opened in both directions following the earlier building fire.

The road had been closed since 12.40am after a large warehouse fire in Chantry Place, Harrow.

It re-opened at 5.30pm.

Buses have also returned to their normal routes.

Mr Pindoria, the owner of Pacest Joinery, expressed his concerns for his 14 employees who are now without work as he watched firefighters dampen down debris.

Advice for rail passengers

Addressing the impact on rail users, the statement continues:

The West Coast main line will remain shut between Euston and Milton Keynes while these repairs are made.

“Passengers wanting to travel on the West Coast main line and West London Line are urged to check with their train operator or nationalrail.co.uk before travelling.

“They will be diverted on alternative routes.”

Repairs to 'take all day'

Network Rail say repairs are expected to take all day.

It said in a statement:

A fire overnight at a timber yard in Harrow has damaged a trackside retaining wall.

“It will need to be dismantled, made safe and rebuilt.

“This is a big job expected to take all day.”
