Police are treating a fire at an electrical shop in Harrow town centre as suspicious.

The ground floor of the eLEREP shop, which sells electrical items, was damaged in a blaze on Tuesday morning (November 7).

Emergency services were called at around 6.30am to reports of a fire at the shop with derelict flats above, on the junction of College Road and Station Road.

The fire was under control by 8.09am but College Road remained closed to traffic until 10am, whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "No injuries have been reported.

Police cordoned off the area after the fire at around 6.30am

"At this early stage in the investigation, the fire is being treated as suspicious.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."

Crews from Harrow , Northolt and Stanmore sent four fire engines and 20 firefighters to tackle the blaze, which left the ground floor damaged.

Several bus routes were diverted because of the fire and did not be serve Station Road.
