A main road through Harrow was closed for around an hour on Saturday lunchtime due to a huge lorry fire.

Smoke was seen billowing into the air from the lorry fire in Kenton Road at around 1pm.

The fire was caused by an electrical fault and there was "no cause for alarm," police said.

Harrow Borough Police tweeted that officers and London Fire Brigade were dealing with a lorry on fire, with road closures in place.

Bus routes 114, 183, 223, H9, H10, H18 and H19 were all diverted due to the fire.
