Those out partying in Harrow town centre will have a watchful eye keeping them safe over the weekend.

A "safe haven" spot has been set up for revellers in a bid to keep Harrow’s night life safe from trouble.

Those enjoying a drink (or five) can visit the pop-up to get help, advice, a bottle of water, hot drink, a taxi or even a pair of flip flops if high heels have become too much.

The first Safe Haven took place between September 2 and 3.

A Harrow Council spokesman said: "Police Officers and medical professionals are also on hand to help anyone in need or worried.

"Teas and coffees have also been generously donated by McDonald's to help.

"The council and police will continue to trial the safe haven every Friday and Saturday until Saturday September 16."

The Safe Haven scheme is a joint partnership between Harrow Council, Harrow Business Improvement District and Harrow Police , running between 10pm and 3am on a Friday and Saturday.
