A 35-year-old man from Harrow has been sentenced for possessing Methadone and the intent to supply Cannabis.

Gerald Byrne, of The Broadway, Wealdstone, was sentenced to two years and two months in prison at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday (April 9) after pleading guilty at a preliminary hearing on February 28.

Officers executed a warrant at the address on February 27 and discovered cannabis, a bottle of methadone, around £4,300 in cash and other drug paraphernalia. Byrne was later arrested on suspicion of possession of both class A and B drugs.

PC Leon Williams of the Wealdstone Proactive Team said: “This is a great result for the community and is a reflection of our drive to actively target criminals.

“This is proactive policing; being part of the community, conducting research, gathering intelligence and taking action to stay on top of criminality. Making Harrow the safest borough in London."
