A man was hospitalised after an incident in Harlesden, which saw part of the main thoroughfare closed off 12 hours later by police.

Officers have been unable to confirm how the man, believed to be in his 30s, received the head injury.

Metropolitan Police said it was called to the scene to reports of an "injured man" at around 12.30am on Wednesday (May 24).

A spokesman for the force said: “The man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to a north London hospital suffering from a head injury.

“His condition was deemed non life threatening or life changing.

“Officers from Brent borough investigate.”

Social media users said London Air Ambulance's emergency helicopter was in the area at the time.

Officers were still not able to confirm how the man received his injuries, or whether a crime took place, 12 hours after the incident.

In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: “No arrests. Enquiries continue."

Bus diversions were in place after the incident until around 1.45pm when Transport for London confirmed they were operating again.
