Rugby star Netani Talei was the special guest at the unveiling of a new kit for pupils at a school in Bedfont .

The Harlequins back-row player met with elated children at Fairholme Primary School on Peacock Avenue on Friday (January 27).

The star who joined the south west London team in January 2015, spoke to some of the youngsters about rugby and his career during a tag rugby tournament.

The black and yellow kit is a first for the school children who had previously wore mismatched gear to games due to lack of funds.

The school had been trying to raise £500 so the pupils could have a full kit and thanks to an anonymous donation their prayers were answered.

School governor, Dr Aisha Rahman, said: "The children looked amazing and you could see they were playing more like a team.

"Something small like this, and with Netani coming along they were amazed."
