Hammersmith front garden death 'not suspicious', say police

The body of a man in his 40s was found in Agate Road on Thursday (June 29) morning, with the death initially being treated as unexplained

Police say the death of a man in Hammersmith , whose body was found in the front garden of a residential garden, is non-suspicious.

The man, in his 40s, was found deceased in Agate Road, on Thursday (June 29) morning.

Police at the time said his death was being treated as unexplained, but Scotland Yard says it is now being deemed as non-suspicious, and is no longer a police matter.

Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham Police were called to the scene at around 7.30am on Thursday.

Writing on its Twitter account, they said at the time: “We are dealing with an incident on Agate Road in W6. Please follow the instructions of officers on scene.”

The file has now been passed on to coroners.

Police said on Friday (June 30) that they were confident of the identity of the dead man , but were unsure if next of kin had been informed.
